I had my first experience of the fire alarm and evacuation of the most badly designed building in history. It started at bang on 11 with a staged evacuation of the building, by 11.18 I had reached the third floor. Not sure how long it took the twin towers to collapse but reckon I would be pushing my luck escaping from the building. By about 11.25 we had reached the ground floor. The problem is the widest staircase is also made of glass and suspended in the main 8 floor atrium so wasn't passed as fire safe, actually if you jump on the stairs then it wobbles, bit of an scary feeling. the only other stairs are those of the fire escapes which are wide enough for about 1 person to squeeze down. Good job due to the rubbish lifts it only took a further 30 mins to get everyone back into the building!
